Possibly, the loveliest little cottage we've stayed in. The hosts are so friendly and the location is beautifully situated in the Yorkshire countryside with the sun streaming into the south facing picture windows. The bed in the master bedroom was super comfy and the ensuite beautifully appointed. We didn't try the other bedroom but sure that's equally as comfy. Ideal for families exploring the city and the countryside to the north and east of York. So many places to visit that at least a full week is required.

We have just returned from a three night break in Hobbits, everything about this cottage was excellent, from the decor,location & views. Hosts Lindsey & Marcus were lovely, made sure we had everything we needed for a fabulous weekend away. We will definitely be returning xx

The room was delightful and cosy, the bed was very comfortable and we both loved the rain shower in the bathroom. Hannah's breakfast was delicious, especially overnight oats and homegrown rhubarb compot. Both before our arrival and once we were there we felt very well looked after. The suggested walk from the front door was lovely. Thank you!

It was an absolutely gorgeous, setting next to a cute little town with a good restaurant. Heather and Sally were delightful and their garden was beautiful and peaceful. Abby ruins and hillside scenery are close by.

Smiths Cottage was comfortable, clean, peaceful, and had easy parking. The owners were very helpful and friendly, and their four-legged family an added bonus! I queried whether there was a microwave or not, before arrival, as different websites had different information on this. There wasnt, but they put one in for my stay. For people with limited mobility but not wheelchair users, there is one small step up into the cottage, which I found perfectly manageable with M.E/CFS. There is a short walk from the car parking area to the cottage, but on one level. Wifi was non-existent within the property during my stay, but I believe there would have been reception from the front of the house had I tried that. However the EE network and data was perfectly sufficient, and I managed to tether my iPad to my phone for those times when I wanted to check local online maps, opening times of places, etc. Nothing else mattered while on holiday. I would happily return.
