April Cottage, hotel in Blaxhall

April Cottage features a patio and is set in Aldeburgh, within just 2 km of Sudbourne Beach and 1.3 km of Aldeburgh Golf Club.

Everything was perfect - the best stay we’ve had for a long time. The house was lovely and in a great location - only 10 minutes walk from Aldeburgh but in a quiet road so no traffic noise. There was only two of us so plenty of space and everything was spotless. Lovely shower. Recommend booking dinner well in advance- we booked before our holiday. The Lighthouse restaurant is wonderful.

Roomy house and large garden terrace for outdoor meals in warm weather :) House was larger than we expected. The property seemed well managed; excellent comms from the management company. Nice touches of a home such as decor with local references.

Maisie's, hotel in Blaxhall

Located in Aldeburgh in the Suffolk region, with Aldeburgh Beach and Sudbourne Beach nearby, Maisie's provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

The key safe was well hidden away but as we are both in our seventies bending low down to the key safe was a problem after a long journey in the car. We have a key safe at home so know how easy they are to work but I had to kneel down to see the numbers and there was a massive hollyhock grabbing me! Once open it was fine but my husband walks with a stick so this could have been a problem for us.

It was very isolated with no one around which was perfect. We were very lucky to see monkjack deer in the morning. It was also the ideal location to visit family and other places of interest.

Plenty of parking (across the road) and friendly staff. Rooms were outside in a seperate block. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a small kitchen area. Good bathroom with shower. Went to the bar for food and drinks and there was a live band playing. Shared a table with some locals, who were very nice. Breakfast was good and in the main pub area.

Parking was free at pub car park across the quiet road from the pub and could see the car from the lodge window. Room was warm enough for early October, heating didn’t come on. Free tea/coffee facility in lodge. Breakfast included cooked warm food which could be changed at request and wasn’t too greasy. Unlimited breakfast drinks and cereal. Friendly staff.

Chalet type accommodation away from the pub itself. Clean and well decorated to a modern design. All you need for a stay, TV, fridge etc, Shower with good hot water. Very comfortable bed for a great nights sleep. Complimentary drinks on arrival in the pub. Car parking opposite which is rather busy at certain times as customers pass through this country side location. Would definitely stay again if in the area again.
