Having said that,I thoroughly enjoyed my bedroom, the lounge, restaurant, the baths. The free all you can eat ice cream in the lounge was also a positive surprise.

We were very surprised with the diversity of the breakfast. If you want to experience a proper Japanese breakfast, here is one place where you can do that very well. The onsen was very pleasant too, but you might need to get accustomed to the temperature. All in all we had a very pleasant stay here and we can definitely recommend! Thanks a lot :)

Although the hotel was busy during our stay, the check-in was fast and we had no complications. My wife wore a kimono and the staff praised her look a lot. We were able to borrow a specific hanger for the kimono from the hotel, to hang it in our room. The staff was very attentive and fulfilled our requests flawlessly. We felt really relaxed and our stay was very revitalising. The massage therapist comes not directly from the hotel, but instead from a salon nearby. The massage was done in our room and very good, definitely worth the price. As a service we were able to checkout at 11am instead of 10am.

We did not expect much other than having a clean room per person and a big-and-comfortable public bath (Daiyokujo). On top of that we get free evening soba noodles, free drinks (unlimited apple juice) and free ice after baths, and free massage chair service. The whole place is also beautifully decorated. Not to mention that the room price is extremely low, that the place is at the city center, and close to the train station.

There is an outdoor fireplace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Forest Cottage Oshu. It was the perfect winter getaway - cozy and wholesome! There was snow everywhere and it felt so magical! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped. We enjoyed the nearby onsen, which is free if you stay at one of the cottages. When we came back from the onsen in the evening, the staff started a bonfire outside that just enhanced the magical atmosphere. We found a couple of sweet potatoes in a plastic bag hung at our door handle and fully enjoyed roasting them in the bonfire. Such an amazing stay!
