The location is great- it's close to the station and the whole accomodation is cozy. Indeed the bathroom is on a different floor, but I didn't have problems with hot water or anything so that's more important for me. It can get a bit cold on the halls of the building, but inside the common spaces and rooms it was warm enough. Towels and laundry are available to rent and you can use the big kitchen they have. The bagel breakfast they offered was actually with good bread.

Mintaro Hut Guesthouse is an entirely non-smoking property. A smoking area is located in front of the building. The free-use kitchen is equipped with a stove, a microwave and a fridge. Cooking utensils are provided. the place was lovely, but most of all the staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. also i ate diner there (you pay by donation) which was the best meal i had in japan, with so many different dishes. would definitely come back when im japan!

JR Nigatake Train Station is a 10-minute walk and JR Sendai Train Station is a 15-minute drive away. Relatively close to the station and the facilities were nice. My favorite part, however, was talking with the staff. Everyone, staff and other guests, was super nice and understanding making it my favorite part of my Japan trip so far. Especially how it was a great chance to meet lots of new people from all over Japan and the world and practice my Japanese with everyone working there. I would highly recommend!

Sweet little room in a calm area and close to the attractions. 20min walk from the train station. The host responded friendly and quickly to my questions.

The couple that owns this business made us feel like family. Mao and Qu are so kind and welcoming. They treated us like family. They picked us up from the bus station, drove us to a wonderful dinner location (which they recommended), drove us to the ski resort, and helped with all our luggage. I was so happy to meet them and talk with them. The room is just as warm as the owners. The floors are heated and the beds are very comfortable. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.
