Looking for a property with onsen?

Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. Traditionally, onsens were located outdoors but a number of hotels also offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.

The pool costs extra, however it's worth the trip in of itself. After all the hiking It's wonderful to be able to relax in a hotub with your partner / family / group, without having to worry about tattoos, or splitting the group by gender. etc. Onsen is available for free, but you have to go in nude, The location is absolutely stunning and there are countless day trip options in the area.

Space , design, friendly landlady on site. Although we spoke different languages we got by very well. Quiet and calm places. She gave us some delicious grapes as we left. Good facilities in the bathroom. A real authentic Ryokan feel - very clean and welcoming

The room and bath were very comfortable and host Oguma-san is very friendly and helpful. The guest house is beautiful and has many excellent paintings by the host. He speaks some English and I speak some Japanese. He went above and beyond to bring me to Nakanosawa Onsen town the next day for a festival and made sure I knew where the bus stop was located to return to the train station.
