Our room at Retreat on the Lake was absolutely perfect. The room was large, the beds very comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were great. We were surprised how quiet the road was. The location is perfect - just across from places like Tilted Cafe and Ingles Market, with lots of other amenities nearby too. We spoke with Chris on the phone as we hadn't received our door details (due to me having an international phone) and he was lovely - polite and helpful.
Gatlinburg

Rivers Edge Motel is located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, 2.7 km from Harrah's Casino. All rooms feature panoramic views of the Oconaluftee River. Complimentary WiFi is provided for all guests. Balcony on the river is paradise, even in December. Spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Franklin
Located in Franklin, Carolina Motel provides a garden. With a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, the 4-star motel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Guests can enjoy pool views. This is such a cute, well kept hotel. The office staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit in the evening and visiting with other guest. Great location for us. We were getting on the Blue Ridge parkway the next day. We will definitely stay there on our next trip to NC.

We liked the location and the sounds of the stream behind the room. Had a nice view from the balcony and enjoyed the fresh air and beauty of nature. It was very nice and relaxing for us. If we ever return to Maggie Valley we would consider staying here.

This vintage Murphy Sunset Motel is located in Downtown Murphy. Free cable internet is included. The Riverwalk Trail and 7 restaurants, including Cherokee Cellers Winery, are within walking distance of the property. The staff the location and the hotel in general had a beautiful appearance Your employee when I checked in was very friendly and had very good customer service

Mom and pop old-school no frills motel. Close to downtown, rooms clean.
The facilities were basic as one would expect with a motel but everything was clean and in working order. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Conveniently situated close to the Great Smoky Mountains NP, numerous bars and restaurants, and various entertainment venues. Overall, a great value for the money. Highly recommend.
Great location just off I-81. Hotel is modern and fairly new. Ample free parking and the breakfast was good. The price was reasonable. Several restaurants close by.
The staff is just super sweet and very understanding. The room was super clean as well as the bathroom, if you needed maid service it was available for whenever you needed it. They do not bombard you unless you need something but for the most part you are left alone (which should be most hotels). My significant other was traveling from out of town and Murphy Motel was the great place to stay not to far from town as well as other things to do.
Average for an inexpensive motel. However, there was no butter or cream cheese on the breakfast buffet. Even more annoying was the fact that there were no lids for the coffee cups so you couldn’t take a cup of their cheap, weak coffee on the road when you left.
This property is clean and the owners are very friendly. The location was perfectly situated at the north end of the Shenandoah parkway. We loved the vintage motor lodge feel of the place. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The fridge and coffee maker in the room was a nice touch, although we did not use it. Great value motel.
This motor lodge has a fresh, new look and is high on our list of stays in Maggie Valley. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the bed super comfy. The owners have captured the true essence of a 1950’s/60’s genre motel. Next time we’re in Maggie Valley we’ll plan to stay longer!
