The converted school is a wonderful building. The beds were very comfortable, shower excellent and breakfast lovely. Our host shared some interesting snippets of local information. We were able to arrange a later-than-usual check-in, without difficulty.

Southcote, hotel in Cheddar

Southcote is located in Weston-super-Mare. The homestay is in an area where guests can engage in activities such as windsurfing and fishing.

The room was very spacious and comfortably furnished. The location was wonderful - in a very quiet road just off the sea front and near to restaurants. The facilities provided (tea tray, kitchenette, TV etc.) were much more than basic. The whole house was spotlessly clean and check in was well managed. Southcote is excellent value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The kids enjoyed the hot tub, the sheep grazing close by and the chickens. Overall, an incredible spot for a getaway.

We liked EVERYTHING about this hotel. The staff were polite, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The beer was served at the correct temperature, the menu was varied and the food was cooked to perfection both at dinner and breakfast. The room, "Little Robin," had every facility you'd expect and was spotlessly clean. Jacqui, the owner, was a great source of local information and told us some terrific places to go. Thanks, Jacqui, you were spot on!

Superb accommodation in an excellent location - conveniently situated for all Cheddar has to offer. Loved the pool, the well kept garden and the great breakfast. The Hosts were super friendly and recommended some lovely places to eat and a scenic - but shorter - walk around the Gorge. Loved everything and plan to return.

The lodge was clean and tidy. We had coffee and milk left for us. It was excellent that we were left alone and we could come and go as we pleased. Superb communication with Amanda and always updated if needed. Thanks Amanda for an excellent stay.

This incredibly cozy place features a superbly equipped kitchen (it has everything and even more to cook with) and comfortable bedrooms. The fireplace was a delightful addition, and the opportunity to light it ourselves was appreciated. The cottage is conveniently located in relation to Cheddar Caves (literally a 10-minute walk to the ticket office and nearby souvenir shops and cafes). We definitely recommend Strawberry Cottage. Thank you.
