Uttoxeter
The Parlour is a cosy Shepherd's Hut in the village of Denstone. If adrenalin is what you seek then despite our peaceful location, we are an only 3 miles from Alton Towers. The market town of Ashbourne, the gateway to the Peak District, is twenty minutes away, so we are an ideal base from which to explore the area. We particularly like Dovedale, Bakewell and Hartington and Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall or some of the local National Trust properties such as Calke Abbey are not to be missed. It was a beautiful location and incredibly easy to get there via taxi. The parlour was beautiful and cosy for us on a couple of cold nights. We loved our stay.

The host Sarah was lovely and friendly and kept us updated via text. The lodge itself was just beautiful, clean and spacious. We had an amazing weekend for my birthday and a lovely dinner cooked in the kitchen. The beds were big and comfy and the Bluetooth speakers and gorgeous long table made the stay so much fun for our small friendship group. Would absolutely recommend as we also went to Alton towers which was literally just up the road in the car !
Pleasant staff and welcoming. Clean hotel and all facilities available in room. Hell of a lot cleaner than travelodge or premier inn. And they don’t have as much facilities either. Travelodge I will never book with again Sausages were very tasty!
Absolutely stunning little lodge, gorgeous grounds, really peaceful and relaxing. I slept really well. Has everything you need for an overnight stay..
It was pretty much false advertisement from the booking.com pictures as there were all the pictures of there more expensive lodges and little did we know we were in the main building in a run down room with no facilities at all no had soap or anything when you’d atleast expect that from any hotel. It was just all round poor apart from the staff and breakfast. They need to change the pictures as to what you’re actually booking and paying for because if I knew I wouldn’t have gone.
The lodges were gorgeous, very smart and clean, with nice views. Dishwasher, washer, dryer, fridge freezer etc excellent condition. The bed was comfortable. There was a balcony with a table and chairs. It was nice and warm. The whole site is clean and well kept. None of it was tatty in any way.
Great location and decent size room for the money. Drayton Manor literally down the road. Excellent shower in the ensuite. Way better than travelodges or other hotels we stay in!
Excellent holiday, lovely lodges and fantastic swimming pool
