The wait staff were lovely. Breakfast was delicious. Portions were much bigger than we needed though, but they offered containers to take away! Dinner was great. The views were amazing! The sunrise over the mountain was truly spectacular, which you could see very clearly from the bar area

The overall experience was great. No faults at all. Perfectly placed for my husband who was doing the Tongariro Crossing. Excellent facilities. Washer, dryer. Hose pipe for dirty boots. The service was brilliant too. The lodge was warm when we arrived and advice for dinner was greatly received. In walking distance of a four square for essentials is good too.

Good location and excellent service.
Very good for star gazing.
Cosy, clean, comfortable room - very welcoming after a bracing walk up to Lower Tama Lake & Taranaki Falls that afternoon. Great location for walking, friendly staff & good restaurant on site - just made last orders at 7pm!
Shared well equipped kitchen was really good if you want to cook,Taranaki falls tract , a 6 km loop was just next to the property , easy and interesting.
Good access up to the Sky Waka. National Park nearby offered some good meal choices. Walk to Taranaki Falls nearby was worthwhile even though we took the long way. Very scenic.
The location couldn't have been better for hiking - the hotel is literally on the trail head for the Tongariro Northern Circuit/ Tama lakes track/ Taranaki falls loop. The bar/restaurant had lovely views from the terrace and a cozy fire place with blankets. We had a backpackers queen room, which was the cheapest room with it's own bathroom we could find in the area. It was very small but had everything we needed.
Excellent location right at the start of the hiking track to Taranaki Falls and Tama Lakes. Comfortable Bed and good in room facilities. We enjoyed drinks and bar snacks on the terrace with great views.
the location is the best, close to Taranaki Falls (only 2 km by walk from the resort), and 15 min to the start point of Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Guest Lounge is great place to get together with other guests and there are plenty of kitchen equipments. Free parking lots … Overall… I love this resort and I will be back for sure.
Fantastic location near the start of tracks to Taranaki Falls and Tama Lakes, with a stunning view of Mt Ngauruhoe from our comfortable room(when it stopped raining!)
Friendly staff, cosy bar with lounge seating and fire, good heating in room, hot bath a bonus after tramping.
Shared kitchen to whip up a meal, good place to meet other guests. 5 min walk to Chateau and visitors centre.
