Lake Te Anau

The deep, indigo waters of Lake Te Anau are framed by lush virgin forest and snowy peaks. From the picturesque village, you can strike out on the walking path along the shore, taking in lovely views of the mountainous scenery along the way. For a different perspective, hire a kayak and explore the massive lake from water level.

Take a trip down Lake Te Anau aboard the Faith, a Yacht...

Take a trip down Lake Te Anau aboard the Faith, a Yacht built in the 1930's. It has been renovated but has the feel of years gone by. Originally built in Scotland and rumour has it that Churchill was known to have stepped aboard this vessel. Speak to Adam, the Owner, who knows its history and he can take you on a trip that you will never forget.

Try the sailing boat experience on the lake. Very knowledgeable captain who entertains with stories of the boat's extensive history, starting in the UK, getting to NZ and eventually to Lake Te Anau.

Didn't have the funds .but next time will go for a 'fang' in the float plane next time. Female Pilot in Command Not sure what model Cessna it is 182 ? doesn't look like a 172. Sounds grunty. Finished in pretty scarlet & white gold stripe (of course)

We had an amazing view of Lake Te Anau from our room. Could watch the changing weather as it moved over the lake. Easy to get into Te Anau town centre from Radfords on the Lake. Parking for our room was directly outside the room. Most appreciated as we both use walking sticks.

The room was really nice, very clean and comfortable. Reception lady was very pleasant. The Anchorage Motel was one street back from Lake Te Anau and a short walk to The Te Anau Club where we had a lovely tea.

Good private rooms, basic but clean, comfy & warm. A hostel type setup. It was chilly outside, so I turned the heater on ,but the room was pretty cozy, so I turned it off in 10 mins. :) Friendly staff, neat grounds & not to mention the park is quiet at night. Good parking & good location across from Lake Te Anau. I've already booked for next year!

The location is on the water front at Lake Te Anau but the hotel is not built along the lake front like others. so most rooms do not get a lake view. My room was a good size, though the bathroom was compact. Very comfortable bed.

Perfect location. We used our stay as a base to explore this beautiful part of New Zealand but ended up spending time hanging out by lake Te Anau itself. The hotel was clean and tidy and John was absolutely wonderful, he helped us out when we arrived pointing out the places we needed to find. I beat the views of the mountains in winter would be amazing, just out the window. Thanks
