Easy to check in, clean, comfy, has everything and close to shops etc.
Only thing is it doesn't have a cooking stove, an electric cooking stove would be awesome.
It has definitely exceeded expectations.

What a fun experience! As an old Convent, the property has been kept as close to period as possible. Beautiful features, memorabilia and feel. Staff were more than amazing, we were greeted to freshly baked biscuits on arrival. As a group of 9 with a very packed schedule, it was a real treat to stay there and not just another hotel. I stayed in the rail carriage and it was a really immersed experience. It had a full sized bath, which I took full advantage of.
The host cooked us breakfast at 5:30 as we had an early start, super accommodating and nothing was an issue.
Had a lovely stay after walking the Kepler track, was very clean and bed so comfortable. Host had thought of everything including a chocolate on the bedside table.
The room was recently renovated and it was very tastefully done. We had free off street parking and all the staff were really friendly. It was a short walk to town and we would happily stay there again. They have lockers at $4 dollars a day which we took advantage of while we walked the Kepler track. We didn't want to leave valuables in the car which we left at the start of the track.
Location good and easy to walk to and from the lake and township. Staff very helpful and were able to answer all our questions. We walked the Kepler track and they were very helpful and happy for us to leave the car safely on site. We were a family of 5 and the room we stayed in was good and comfortable. This was our return trip. Being able to dry our gear safely outside while we relaxed to recover was great.
The location was phenomenal. Just a few minutes’ drive from the town center and close to the Kepler Track. Helen was so incredibly kind and friendly, and we beyond enjoyed the beauty of the chalet and animals around us. We wished we could have stayed a few more days!
Great lakefront location a short walk from town. Easy parking, beautiful views from the living room . They kindly looked after some bags for us whilst we did the kepler track and there was an onsite guest laundry! Newly refurbished bathroom with a lovely vanity, and the room sizes were really large!
Robin went the extra mile, juggling rooms to accommodate us for an extra night.
He organised to do our washing when we came off the Kepler Track, what a legend! Nothing was too much trouble.
The location is excellent for hikers, directly opposite the DOC office, and an easy walk to the town centre shops and restaurants.
The room was clean and comfortable. Real coffee was a bonus.
We will definitely try to stay there next time we are in Te Anau.
Our second stay after we finished Kepler track. All feedback and recommendations we shared at the end of our first stay remained valid. Well recommended place.
I was able to leave a bag at reception while I did the Kepler track. When I finished the track I was able to check in earlier. Both of these were really appreciated.
The kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed for both of my stays.
The shower was lovely and modern with great water pressure and heat.
