The onsens are really the star of the show at this hotel, and the time we spent bathing under the stars, with the sound of the river and the forest at night will be something I never forget. The natural beauty of this place is beyond words and there was a real allure to the isolated nature of the location (even if it is a challenge to get to!). The free shuttle from Meotobuchi Parking Lot was easily accessed with minimal Japanese speaking, and the hotel staff were all polite, helpful and accommodating to us as the only foreigners visiting on a busy weekend.
Located in Nikko and only 1.1 km from Kegon Falls, Okunikko Guesthouse JUN provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

We could view the lake directly from the window during the day. The view was spectacular. The host was friendly and informative. The place was clean and well-equipped.
Located just 1.2 km from Kegon Falls, Yutorelo Nikko offers accommodation in Nikko with access to an open-air bath, a terrace, as well as a lift.

For this price I didn't expect to stay in such a luxurious hotel! It is a dorm room in an otherwise pretty comfortable place. Your bunk bed is not great but okay for sleeping, but what you get is a free onsen with actual hot spring water! Breakfast is also great, as are the facilities and the lounge room (which includes games and a ping pong table). Definitely the best place along lake Chuzenji for such a low price!
Situated next to Lake Chuzenji, Hatago Nagomi is renovated in August 2017. The hotel features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. Free private parking is available on site.
