Beautiful new hotel with modern design. Big and comfortable room. The staff speaks English, very polite and resourceful. The location is great next to Takashimaya, lots of restaurants and bars by the cute little river. Walking distance to Gion district and Nishiki market. Value for money! I highly recommend this hotel

We loved our stay at the Kanra hotel. Breakfast was great, they have both western and japanese buffet menu. Kids enjoyed the stay a lot. easy access to Shijo dori and NIshiki market. Lots of temples nearby. Just walk a little and you can see authentic japanese style living away from the facade of touristy show cases that you see with most hotel locations.

Close to points of interest in Kyoto, Gion, Hirashiyama, temples, river, restaurants, shopping, Nishiki market, etc. Bus and subway lines easy access. First rate and clean facility even by Japanese standard, including the onsen. Rooftop view, foot bath, well stocked fridge wjrb drinks, excellent staff (some English speaking), treated well. Kind of a boutique hotel.
The Ace hotel Kyoto is a gorgeously designed space with a fantastic lobby and breakfast dining area. Our room was comfortable and chic and the location was perfect, very central and near Nishiki Market. The staff was wonderful and helped with dinner reservations and fantastic recommendations.

The best location! In front of Yasaka Shrine, walking distance Ninenzaka, Senenzaka, Kiyomuduzera, Nishiki Market and a lot more. 1 train to Fushima Inari, 1 bus to philosophers path. We watched the sunset at the nearby river while drinking coffee, had walked throught the streets of Gion at night, walked through temples in the morning. Starbucks at 1st floor and outside is full of japanese street foods. Good hotel breakfast, the rooms were clean and big enough, good ammenities. Loved my stay here for 5days in Kyoto.
The hotel is very close to Shijo train station exit 4, and to a 7 eleven. Walking distance from Nishiki market. The breakfast was very good with many western and Japanese choices. Cafeteria employees don't speak English but are very nice and helpful. Comfortable beds.. Very close to Yakiniku restaurant (excellent beef!!)
Stay was so good we extended our stay 1 more day. Clean well run hotel with Location within 10 minutes from subway station/ Kyoto museum and 2 blocks from nishiki market.
This stay exceeded my expectations! Not only is this hotel well-designed and spacious, the front desk is incredibly nice and helpful. The lounge was a nice perk for guests that I took advantage of in the afternoons. Great location and less than 10 min walk from Shijo station and bus routes around Kyoto and walking distance from Nishiki Market. This place isn't the cheapest option in the area but it's well worth it and I would stay again. They were able to accommodate us 3 guests in 3 separate beds which was hard to find!
The hotel was very clean and quiet and close to the Kyoto train station and lots of cafes and restaurants. It was very easy to get downtown to the shopping area and Nishiki market. The staff was very helpful and friendly and able to help us send our luggage on to the next hotel in Osaka. The connected cafe, vending machine and soaking onsen were convenient and nice extras.
I really enjoyed my stay at this boutique hotel. The room was extremely clean and modern, and the bed was VERY comfortable. Kyoto sites are generally pretty spread out, but this hotel was nicely located for walks to Nijo Castle, The Imperial Palace, Nishiki Market and along Kamo River to the Shimogamo Shrine (all of which were recommended by Front Desk staff). It was also very close (<5 mins) to a couple of subway lines, one of which I took from Kyoto Station to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
