The hotel was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our dog was also made very welcome.Lovely outside eating area with covered patio as well. Restaurant and bar had a great Italian feel to them.
Our room, which happened to be the bridal suite was very large and airy, with an excellent shower. Bed was very comfortable, but maybe a little soft for me.
It was quiet and peaceful at night.
Conveniently located off the A1 at the Metro Centre, this hotel is 10 minute drive from Newcastle city centre.

The breakfast ws far beyond our expectations. The beds were clean and very comfortable and the room had everything that we required. Extremely pleased.

Very clean staff were polite was food for the money.
As a keen walker, I found this a great base for exploring the surrounding area on foot (Gibside, Causey Arch, Tanfield Railway, Beamish). Good, hearty breakfast available to start the day, but check beforehand if food is being served in the evening (if not, there are several takeaways and one pub - Hobson's - in the surrounding area that will deliver to Tantobie and menus can be had at the bar). Clean, comfortable room, perfect for the solo traveller, nice local pub and friendly staff.
