We liked the kitchen facilities which allowed us to provide our own breakfasts, eat at table and chairs, and keep food fresh. The owner, Linda, was there to greet us and available if needed.
The bathroom was great, the whole property recently cheerfully decorated, and light and airy, and the large bed really comfortable.
The view from the bedroom window was amazing
The short walk down and up from town was not a problem but good exercise.
Highly recommend

Youlgreave is a very picturesque village with many higgeldy piggeldy stone houses. There are 3 pubs which all seem to have great reviews. There is a well stocked village shop, a post office and a cafe.
It is well situated for visiting the Derbyshire dales and Chatsworth.
Our cottage was just a few steps away from the bridge over the river with nice walks along the river.

Youlgreave is a busy, pretty Peak District village with many walkers travelling through. It is perfectly placed to explore this area of the Peak District, with Bakewell, Matlock, Carssington Water, Chatsworth all a short car journey away. There are also many walking trails in the immediate area. It has 3 good pubs all serving food and a local village store. There are also a couple of cafes. Along with a couple of children's play areas. The Farmyard Inn was the perfect place to stay for the 3 nights we were there. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast was amazing. Richard and Chloe were great hosts and very helpful with any questions we had.

It's a thriving, well cared for village with opportunities for walking right from the village. The nearby river provides opportunities for feeding ducks, dipping nets and even wild swimming. We tried The Bull's Head, just one of three pubs in the village, and enjoyed a generous home cooked meal at a reasonable price.

I was competing in a gundog event at Chatsworth House.
I was competing in a gundog event at Chatsworth House. Youlgreave is about 25 minutes away, it's a lovely picturesque Derbyshire village. I didn't spend much time there, however very friendly, when I took my dog for a walk in morning and evening, people I met said 'hello'. Impressed me enough to rent a cottage in Derbyshire Dales next spring.
