Excellent location, very friendly and accommodating staff : we were given a 3rd floor room but there is no lift. We are a retired couple and in order not to have to negotiate our way up with the luggage, we were offered another room on the ground floor.

It was too short a stay to enjoy all the sites but we enjoyed our stroll around in the early evening and for an hour in the morning before continuing our journey. The restaurant Club Aperta was a revelation and most enjoyable in every way. We have not visited La Rochele for several years but will definitely be putting it on our visiting schedule as we visit France several times a year.

The weather was lovely and warm and it was great to see blue skies having left the rain behind in Ireland! Beautiful castle, architecture, and food. We took a cruise to the nearby Island of Saint Martin de Re. It is a beautiful island and well worth a visit. There are several companies offering cruises. The trip takes 1hr and 30minutes. The quality of food is high and there are many restaurants to choose from.

Wonderful historic city on the water.
Wonderful historic city on the water. Lots of restaurant and touristy shops. The beach areas are small but pretty. Some are rocky. I'd return to explore a little more, we pretty much just visited the Old Port area and the beach by it. Next trip I'd rent a car to explore further outside of the city center. This is definitely a place where people with big boats vacation.

The old port area was very busy .
The old port area was very busy . We enjoyed getting out of this area and walking along the front and harbour .We ate on a couple of occasions in an Italian restaurant called Carlotta . Good food and excellent service.
In La Rochelle, a short walk away from the 'Towers'. Hotel is very much like a boutique hotel. Great wallpapers throughout etc.. It has a carpark £20 per night, it is next to the hotel and very secure, though a little tight. Breakfast was great for a cooked english breakfast but lacked the pastries, croissants. ham, cheese etc... for a continental breakfast. £12 pp. Staff very pleasant. Electric dyson fan in the bedroom. Safe in the room.
Good location on the harbour in La Rochelle. Plenty of places to eat. Hotel only provides breakfast. Furnished from the Maison de Monde shops, so they are good quality and you know where to buy anything you like the look of. The building is very old, some areas have stairs and are labarynthine. There are good lifts and level access in other areas.
The hotel was lovely, clean, refillable water on all floors to reduce plastic waste. The breakfast was great as was the bar. The location was amazing, really close to the port of La Rochelle. The beds were comfortable with a lot of pillows. The pool was lovely and clean as was the gym.
Friendly people. We could park our bicycles in a closed garden under a roof. Very clean room and bathroom. Good bed and great breakfast buffet. The best we had so far in France.
The hotel is very well placed for walking to the port and the evening life of La Rochelle.
The kitchen was well equipped
The dog was made very welcome.
