It was amazing! We went on a Monday afternoon without reservations. The line wasn't very long to get our tickets and spent about three hours from start to finish. That day it was overcast and perfect weather. I was very happy with our last day in Paris. That night we went back to see it light up at sunset. It was awesome!
Very touristic feeling. They have done too much to it, and have taken the romance out of it. Too many businesses and tourist traps. Make sure to buy tickets online well before coming here, and buy the skip the line option. Otherwise, it is truly a wonder of the world to look at!
TONS OF PICKPOCKETS AND SCAMMERS. You will see tons of gypsies or men walking around with "souvenirs, gifts, toys, BRACELETS" to sell you but they are SCAMS. Police were walking around and certainly made their presence known and were seen telling them to stop. However, if you are aware of your surroundings and these scamming practices, then you certainly will enjoy your time as it is very pedestrian friendly and the park is a beautiful place to see the tower. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING, EVER, THEY WILL ASK FOR YOUR MONEY, IT IS A SCAM.
We loved the Eiffel tower. We had tickets to go up in the tower early in the morning. It was a clear day and the sun was shining so it was perfect. We enjoyed all the we could see from the Eiffel Tower. We had been in a ferris wheel two days before our trip to the tower. Be sure to book your trip to the Eiffel Tower as soon as possible to be able to get the day and time you want to visit the tower.
Absolutely get your ticket a couple days in advance. Sucks to have to plan your visit instead of living spontaniously but worth saving the time in lines. Don't wait til you get there, you know you are going to go. Bring a sweater, it's windier up there. Really consider if you will be able to go to the top. You might pay for it but chicken out.
We did a tour in the late evening so that when our tour was coming to a close the lights came on. We had seen the tower several times on other walks and rides so touring it when the lights come on was much more interesting.
The hotel staff were very welcoming and kind. I was moving out of my apartment nearby and needed to weigh my suitcases, they have a scale at the front desk! The check in process was smooth and the location was perfect for me. If you are a tourist, it is on champ de mars just about a 5-10 min from the Eiffel Tower and Rue Cler which has lots of restaurants, flouristes, groceries etc. Also, the Carrefour in front of the Ecole Militaire metro station is open 24/7. The room was as pictured and the wallpaper is so cute.
A beautifully designed boutique hotel near the Eiffel Tower. I loved that every detail was thought out, and although the rooms were small, they made good use of the space. I very much appreciated the design details: Soft velvet, gorgeous colours, and the mix of wood, marble and brass. It was very clean, very modern with vintage charm, had a delicious breakfast and helpful staff. I also appreciated that there was coffee and tea in the room. I'm already looking forward to staying here the next time I visit Paris!
We had an executive room room and it was nice, clean and really big comparing to average room size in Paris. We could see Eiffel Tower right from our window. I celebrated my Bday and was pleased with Complementary welcome that was a bottle of champagne. Breakfast did not have wide range of meals to choose, but was Delicious and products were fresh and of Good quality.personnel was smiling, nice and polite. Definitely will be recommending this hotel .
Bed was very comfortable. Room was very quiet. We could see the very top of the Eiffel Tower from our room. Very attentive and accommodating staff. Great location. We walked everywhere. They have multiple properties through out Paris and you can stop in at the other hotels for a drink, coffee and use the bathroom. Nice extra perk!
Very well located hotel, easy to be reached in a relatively save area. Very close to the Eiffel tower. OK welcome. Room with sufficient space. Relatively spacious compared with Paris standards. Well equiped not too small bath room with all you need. Breakfast was OK, sufficient but not generous choice
Cute hotel minutes away from the Eiffel Tower. Great location and a clean room meant for a perfect stay in Paris. Highly recommend this, especially given the price. My fiancee and I would absolutely return here the next time we're in Paris.
The hotel is nicely located within a five minute walk of the Eiffel Tower and situated in a wonderful Parisian neighborhood. The room is well appointed and had an exceptional bath area.
Walking distance to Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and Champs-Elysées. Metro is close to hotel and easy to get around Paris. The staff is helpful and friendly. I would stay there again.
if one goes to the Louvre you acquire headsets. It is pretty amazing viewing a painting of Napoleon crowning Josephine and the historical significance of this amazing piece of art is explained in the most beautiful artistic voice. Captivating... , not just this one painting the whole museum of priceless treasures. I felt honoured to view this amazing collection. The artifacts are breathtaking. It is amazing riding a double decker bus and wearing a headset. Two trips around the city and you are most familiar with the sights and their historical significance to start your journey. Plaques in doorways and on statue's leave the visitor a good over view of the past. A trip to Versailles again headsets that advise the visitors the past. The streets, the cobblestones the architecture, the open markets and cafe's, the preservation of the past intact is so very amazing to a first time visitor. Paris is exciting! Paris is busy. Paris is steeped in culture and is bigger than life itself. I stood beneath the Eiffel Tower and looked up trying to imagine the past and the men that built this magnificent structure. The residents of Paris make their city come to life. They are proud of their city. Very clean and orderly.
Skip the Louvre & the Champs-Elysees, stroll the Tuilleries and the Latin Quarter instead, & talk to people, but remember you're in THEIR country so learn some basic French (please, thank you, G'day, G'eve, etc.) - you'll find a lot of people who speak English. Use the Metro and the "river taxi" (that's what I call it, anyway). DO enjoy cafe au lait often at outdoor cafes, look at around and up at the old buildings, take your time and soak it all in. Don't waste money on 4 & 5, or even 3 - star hotels & "fancy" restaurants - see where the most French are eating and try those places. But, I'm biased and fluent in the language. One can "do" Paris in 3 days - Musee d'Orsay, Musee Marmottan (Monets!!!), Sacre Coeur, Eiffel Tower & Notre Dame, and if you must, the Arc de Triomphe, but it's not worth the hassle). Skip Versailles, go to Fountainbleau (you can get a R/T ticket at the Metro station (subway, train, bus). Hotel in the Latin Quarter.
Find all the hidden playgrounds, visit the jardin du luxembourg and budget for carousel rides. A good view of the city can be found at the top of the wheel/roue within the jardin des tuileries rather than queuing for the tour Eiffel or scycraper.
Go early!! For the Eiffel Tower we took the stairs which was fun for our children and the line up was minimal.
Louve. Go to Eiffel Tower early, they shut down access to the top when we were there because of over crowding at the top.
Paris at night is amazing, make sure you go to the Eiffel Tower at night and wait for it to sparkle for you!
