Great professional and friendly staff. From Alvaro at the front desk on the first floor to Bianca and Elsa at the reception area on the 8th floor. Such nice welcoming people and the General Manager would always ask “how is your stay, what can we do to make it better because we are always trying to improve our guests’ experience.” I saw him ask many customers and you could tell he was so genuine. He and his Team are such a great reflection of the service you expect at NH Collection and they are such great representatives of the NH Collection. I will stay here again and thank you to the wonderful staff!!! Made my stay so enjoyable.

This place was perfection! From the gentlemen checking us in to the high quality touches in the room, the cleanliness, the comfort, spacious bathroom with double sink, toiletries and luxurious bathrobes and towels, everything was perfect. Would definitely stay again when in Madrid. It feels 5-star and stands way apart from other 4-star hotels we stayed in during our Spain trip. It’s great value for money, relatively speaking, as well. I highly recommend this place.

Puerta del Sol
Once upon a time, a bear stood next to a strawberry tree – and an icon was born. The statue, ‘El Oso y El Madroño’ stands in this large square and is Madrid’s official symbol. The area is renowned for its clock tower attached to the royal post office, as well as assorted shops, hotels and restaurants. New Year’s celebrations are also held here – according to tradition, the locals eat one grape each time the bell tolls.

The apartment is nicely located near Puerta del Sol and around the corner from a small Placa Tirso de Molina with groceries, and cafes with outdoor seating. The neighborhood is charming.
Location was EXCELLENT! Steps away from restaurants, coffee shops, bars, Corte Ingles stores, Gran Via, Puerta Del Sol.
Rooms and hotel restaurant overall are old - beds were NOT comfortable at all. Cafe Varela does serve an amazing buffet breakfast for a reasonable price 19 Euros. Best part of this hotel is the STAFF, they are GREAT! Very courteous and accommodating with a smile on their faces especially Alvaro (not his older manager). Loved the FREE minibar beverages.
Big apartments , 2 double 2 single beds in 3 different rooms , one is a master with bathroom inside and there is another one. The perfect location really 3 min walk from central gran via and all the shopping and 3 min walk to puerta del sol. Quite even though it’s on the Main Street. Smart key so no physical one.
The property was centrally located and easy to navigate. It’s directly across from the oldest bakery in Madrid where I had a cafe con crema and a napolitano at the bar. The puerta del sol is the gateway to everything so easy to find your way around
Best thing to tell about this property is ofc location. Just 2-3 minutes walk to Gran Via metro station and 7-8 minutes walk to Puerta del Sol. Location is everything!!! During the time of booking this was cheapest property with good reviews in whole Madrid Center. So you get what you paid for and don't expect too much.
My mother and I were seeing my cousin living in Madrid. We got a private room with a private bathroom and two beds in the hostel. It was a three minute walk to Puerta Del Sol and a five minute walk to Plaza Mayor. Room was clean, cozy and safe.
Absolutely gorgeous and impeccably clean apartment right by Puerta del Sol, making for easy walks to Plaza Mayor and other top sites, plus the best area for public transportation choices. The host was very friendly and helpful, meeting us right when we arrived to hand over the keys and give us a tour. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to Madrid.
The location was great. Easy walk to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor and anything in the downtown core. The property was clean and the apartment adequately well appointed.
What's the main scope of a hostel? To provide a safe place to sleep and not much else. Just a bed.
Everything is else is corollary: does it matter that this place is in a great position, 5 minutes walk from Puerta del Sol? Does it really matter if this hostel has a quite nice common area with a big tv?
Does it matter if the rooms were fairly clean and the pods had a hook to dry towels? Well, these are indeed things I value but...
...it doesn't mean much if the sleeping experience is bad.
Perfect central location on Puerta del Sol, very close (5-10min in foot) to everything worth in the center od Madrid. The hotel was very clean and well organised even when the rooms are pretty small. The reception is great, the guys helped us with every our request, such as providing electric kettle in the room, extra pillows or safe deposit key. We had the inner courtyard view and it was pretty calm for sleeping in the night.
