I booked this hotel based on a scrutiny of other venues by using Booking dot com. I had to book a hotel because at about 4AM my car hit a roo on the highway near Collector. I was carless and 1500KM from my destination (Brisbane). I was adrift with stress and confusion because my car no longer worked (radiator, rooined... LOL... I can pun now but when I booked this hotel I was bereft of humour). I had hours to wait (I got into town at about 630AM and check-in was not until the pub opened, I think at 11AM). In the end I didn't stay the night. I used the room to organise my stress, organise my thoughts, have a nap, and organise a hire car. This is an old school pub hotel. Shared shower/toilet. It's good, honest, and basic.

Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It suited our needs.
The motel is just behind the bakery (which was convenient for us) and just opposite the Big Merino.
Room service is an option, which we like. The menu is rather pricey, but also very tempting. We didnt try it so cant comment on the quality of the meals. There is kebab shop close by, which we ate from (very good) but not much else in walking distance after 7 pm. Bathroom was roomy and shower had good water pressure. Good view of the Big Merino's back end from the bathroom window. Staff were helpful with late check in and retrieval of my book that fell behind the bench area into a black hole.
The hotel is clean and comfortable, not far off the highway and close to the Big Merino. The restaurant on site is very handy and the staff are all lovely.
