We had a pleasant stay at the Saju Kyoto Hotel! We were welcomed with Matcha tea and delicious cookies. In general, the people were so nice and welcoming. We loved the more „traditional“ experience and had actually a good sleep there! We would definitely come again.

The guesthouse is situated close to Nijo Castle and Kyoto Imperial Palace, making it a good spot to explore this side of Kyoto. We had a lovely two-night stay and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Our room was cozy with a charming small garden. Kayoko-san treated us to special teas in the evening, which was a delightful surprise after a day of exploring the city.

- The couple managing the venue is incredibly friendly - The breakfast and dinner are copious and delicious, eating it with the other guests is a great experience - The location is incredible, close to the bus stop and central to the Ohara area which is famous for its temples - The room was comfortable and had everything you need - While it's a little far and costly from Kyoto center by bus, the price of the accommodation is extremely honest for the service - Last but not least, being surrounded by Japanese families enjoying a holiday break was a special experience!
