A traditional Viennese-style café in a 16th-century building in the pedestrian zone in the centre of Melk, Madar Café Restaurant zum Fürsten is only 500 metres from Melk Abbey. Free high-speed WiFi and free private parking are available.

Everything about this hotel was amazing! Freshly roasted coffee every week, breakfast included, spectacular, picturesque location and the owner was very kind and helpful. If you’re debating booking this- don’t! It’s a beautiful little town and this is the perfect place to stay!

Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.

The pension is amazing, the decoration is really good and we were able to drop our bags while we were exploring the city and surroundings, we did not inform our arrival time accurately and we had to call in order for them to open the house for us, and it was super easy!

Excellent location, 10 minutes walk to the city center (uphill on the way back, but that's not a problem). The parking is right in front of the pension and there are enough places. Quiet and peaceful area. Check-in was easy and quick, we really liked the terrace, too bad it was cold and we couldn't stay outside for too long. It was perfect for our one night stay.

From the reviews, we decided to come and stay an extra evening in Melk, rather than continue in Vienna, and it certainly did not disappoint. Large, spacious, modern and sophisticated, we lived in luxury for a reasonable off-season price. We later learnt that Der Goldener Stern also had a past as a historic inn owned by the Abbey. No staff were seen, and none were needed at this self check-in apartment. Radiator was great for drying washed clothes.

The host was extremely nice and supportive. Nice habbit to welcome the guests with an apricot schnaps/liquor. Discrete but present all the time, they offer a very tasty breakfast. Parking in front of the pension. Peaceful area, very close to downtown.

Breakfast was delicious and lots of choices. The location is really delightful and I had dinner on the front terrace looking up to the Abbey on the hill above the town. Quite magical. The restaurant is quite popular and they recommend booking which I did. Staff are helpful and efficient. a short walk to the train station with my luggage, just a bit of uphill going from the hotel back to the station. The Abbey is outstanding and requires time to explore both inside and the garden.

The room was good and the shower was almost like a spa (strong water flow). Breakfast was delicious and with a lot of options. The coffee was very good. Location is fantastic, walking distance from the main train station, from the bus stop to take the bus to Spitz and Durstain, and also close to the stop to take te Danube mini cruise boat. The room had a ceiling window with a view to Melk Abbey. The restaurant offers good traditional and local meals for dinner.

Very friendly (family-like) hospitality. Excellent food for dinner, rich breakfast. Location is perfect if you want to visit the Melk Abbey. The shower cabin a bit too small but for one (a few) night it is acceptable.

We booked one night because we wanted a place on our way from Vienna to Salzburg. Not really expecting anything. We got a beautiful and very large room that fit perfectly to or family (2+3). the room was spot clean, the stuff was very friendly, there is a private parking and the location inside Melk is perfect. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was great!
