Great option for a short stay in Williamsburg. Loved the cozy room and was lucky enough to have been given a room with a wonderful view by a a particularly service-oriented receptionist. Very pleasant rooftop bar/restaurant with a late night happy hour.

After staying in Manhattan for work for a week the Penny was a welcome change of pace. Spacious, bright rooms with a super comfortable bed, seating area and a wee kitchen. The bathroom is a good size and has all the products you’d want as well as towels that are actually adult sized (anyone else hate those tiny hotel towels that would barely cover a child?!) A big factor in booking was that all the artwork has been created by disabled artists- this is the area I work in and it’s really exciting to see a hotel supporting their local disability arts focused organisations. The area is great, quiet but just a short walk to cafes, bars and the subway and it felt safe to wander in on my own. It will absolutely be my go to hotel next time I’m in the area

We absolutely loved the Penny hotel. It was the perfect location in Brooklyn / Williamsburg, close to great coffee shops, restaurants, bars and amazing shopping. The rooftop patio had a stunning view of the city and it's the perfect spot to have a drink and plan out your day or night. We were able to hop on the train a few blocks away and get into Manhattan in minutes. It also allowed us to explore more of Brooklyn without feeling like it was a big journey to get there. We will absolutely be staying here again the next time we're in NYC.

Very clean, new appliances. Spacious room with details in the design. Comfortable bed and quiet nights (stayed there from Tue-Fri). Early check-in was possible, very nice staff. The location is fabulous as a start to explore NYC if you prefer not to stay in the downtown hustle and bustle: lots of cafes, restaurants and shops around the corner. Dog-friendly for those travelling with a dog.

- Location was brilliant. Close to the L train which is super easy to get to manhattan. Easy to get to from JFK. Really close to good food places in Brooklyn. - Fun quirky hotel - Bed was SO comfy. This combined with the hotel being nice and quiet and the blackout blind meant we got a great nights sleep - Coffee and nice kettle in the rooms - Yoga mat in the rooms (and space for 2 people to actually do yoga. Even in small rooms) - Good shelves/ storage throughout to store what you need - Good quality shampoo, conditioner and soap provided - Washcloths/ Flannels provided including a dark one for removing make up!

The whole hotel experience felt “premium” I really enjoyed it from the moment I stepped in. The staff were really professional and welcoming. The location is great too as I could walk to the locations of most of the “basic necessities” if the hotel didn’t have it. The room size I took was fine for me as a solo traveler but if you’re going with more persons I would recommend upgrading to a larger room for sure especially if you think you might have to eat inside the room for whatever reason.

Friendly and helpful staff and great location. The room was small but well-designed and was perfect for us. The restaurant on the top fool has amazing views but I had no time to try the menu.

Small ish room but with bed right up against a big window. Perfect for lazing in bed with a coffee. Lovely decor - funky with real plants and homely touches. Good location. Fab rooftop restaurant/bar. Great staff. Able to check in to room early which was an unexpected bonus.
