A fully renovated tiny picturesque riverside house (48 m2, three-level) decorated in a modern funky country style located on the edge of the charming and historic village of Sandomil at the entrance of Serra da Estrela National Park. There is plenty of natural light with ample panoramic windows and a small terrace overlooking the river Alva, the village, the park, the fluvial beach, and mountains. Some people described it as “CUTE" some said, “it has a fairy feel to it”. Our Homestay is cute and fairy but that is not it. It comprises a fine balance of many natural elements present in Serra da Estrela, wood, river and xisto stones, granite, plenty of sunlight, and crystal clear mountain water. Did you know that we have spring water well running throughout our house and that is perfectly visible through a thick glass placed on the floor of our washroom on the ground floor? If you look closely, during your stay, there are many features and symbols reminiscent of old Portuguese folklife waiting to be discovered. A master bedroom with its sitting terrace, a tiny room with a sofa bed, a full-fledged kitchen, an entry hall and a shower room all with a character and spectacular views awaits. Heaters, dehumifier, washing machine and tumble druyer to stay comfy, warm and cousy during the all seasons.

Sunitha and Vasco do their best to offer quality service by delivering continuous improvements, the fruit of our belief in building a guest relationship and striving to ensure maximum customer satisfaction, through effective communication, caring enthusiasm, and minimalist organization. Although many would consider our house tiny, it is conceived following the minimalist concepts of “less is more”, thanks to the vision of Tyrone (a master carpenter with a creative outlook) and Sunitha and Vasco (Hosts). We have continuously challenged the ability to apply this concept to the architecture and home decor of our homestay. It is a continuous creative process of fitting intelligently in tiny spaces, extra comfort, and feng shui. We have lived in more than 10 countries including Canada, England, Cuba, Thailand, Malta, and now in amazing Portugal. Together we speak more than five languages: Spanish, Italian, English, Hindi, and Portuguese. Vasco is an experienced yoga therapist and Sunitha's a master chef of (Indian, Thai, Italian) if you wish to take yoga or cooking lessons please let us know. Our neighbourhood is a nourishing one: As you could imagine having the river Alva flowing in front of our home provides the healing power of nature. The idea that immersing yourself in forests and nature has a healing effect is far more than just folk wisdom and we welcome you to experience this right in your chosen homestay. You can swim in the gentle crystal-clear waters and the fluvial beach awaits you with open arms to sunbathe and regenerate in its natural green surrounding. The local elders will enchant you with stories and wise smiles, the local bars and tavernas will quench your thirst and will satiate your hunger. But if you feel like having a picnic by the fluvial beach (there are two, one in front of our home and the other just a 200 mt away) you can barbeque fish, meat, and vegetables in the provided areas. Otherwise, you can always opt to find different types and colors of leaves, sing songs, walk around the park talking about life issues, go fishing, play a board game on the blanket. We have a children's playing park, paddler boats and spinning watermills. For a bit of hippie vibes international music festivals such as Freedom and Insomnia Electronic Music awaits you.
