Welcome to the Alchemist Retreat, a sunny, uniquely modern, self contained studio nestled in our back garden, with its own limestone meandering pathway entrance. The studio is a separate dwelling from the host's house with its own access and deck within the garden and mature trees. The Alchemist Retreat is an ideal getaway for couples looking for style, panache, peace and tranquillity. Located minutes from the town centre, railway station and Greytown. Enjoy the unlimited WiFi to stream your favourite shows to watch on your own device. Listen to music on the Bose speaker or the Bluetooth turntable with a small collection of nostalgic vinyl. For those traveller's who don't plan on spending vacation time cooking, choose from the many boutique restaurants, cafes and eateries in and about the local towns, otherwise the kitchenette has a multi-functional microwave oven for heating up your meal or delicacies you have just purchased. Accessed by a lock code, the studio has WiFi, a stylish bathroom, super comfortable and cosy double bed with quality linen, a kitchenette equipped with an under bench fridge, toaster, kettle, conserves with teas and plunger coffee.
For many years we hosted overseas students. They came from all over the world to stay and see New Zealand. Some weren't fluent in English but we made them feel welcome and helped them in every way to make their experience exciting. They became part of our family. Now we are doing it just for New Zealanders in our own back yard.
…Did I mention about wine! … the whole region has some of the countries best wineries to visit and purchase. Sit back with a glass on the deck, watch the sun go down, then marvel at the magical night sky, listen to music and reflect on your day exploring the region. The local swimming pool is literally a 5 minute walk around the corner...but in summer 5 minutes in the Wairarapa sun is all you need!
