The room felt luxurious, and was to a very high standard. It was bright and airy with good WiFi. The views across the vines were beautiful. The owners were really welcoming and helpful.
A continental breakfast was provided. There was a range of there own wines available for purchase in the room.
We were impressed with the wine tasting and sharing platter we purchased from them for our evening meal, which meant that we didn't have to go out for a meal.

Queen Elizabeth park is great, there is a train and boat rides and the park itself is huge, on the day we visited there everything was free to go on and there was a mini market so you could buy some food. Then you can go across the road to the pools - indoor and outdoor and that was free also. We liked the compactness of Masterton and its got heaps of shops and heaps of options Makkies, KFC, Subways, PaknSave, Countdown etc. We got Roast meals one night, very yum and way too much. We will be back soon.

We based ourselves in Masterton so we could explore the Wairaparapa Region. We went to the Pukaha (Mt Bruce) wildlife reserve, did the Star Safari, visited Aotearoa Stonehenge, went to the Cape Palliser Light House and Seal Colony, visited Ngawi and had a delicious lunch at Lake Ferry Hotel. We also had delicious custard filled cronuts at the Land Girls Cafe in Pirinoa, amazing Fish and Chips at The Lake Ferry Hotel and ate three times at the 10 O'clock Cookie Bakery Cafe in Masterton.

Masterton Park has been excellently developed.
Thr ribbon development is still bad on the southern side.
Masterton is the home of notable schools and we enjoyed the grounds and facilities at Wairarapa College where our large Christian festival was held.

Masterton is beautiful, Mawley Park brilliant accom. Needed to contact Booking.com was unable to make contact. It was frustrating. But the Mawley Park manager more than made up for the booking.com discrepancy. The trip could have easily turned to custard if Les (the manager) didn't help 🤔

We loved Queen Elizabeth Park.
We loved Queen Elizabeth Park. It has great play areas for children and lots of interesting places to stroll. We found an aviary and a swing bridge and there is a lake where you can hire paddle boats (in weekends?) and a little train for rides (weekends?)
We had lunch at Entice Cafe across the road and afternoon tea at Ten O'clock Cookie Bakery. Both were excellent.
My brother and I stayed at the home for five days. We were very happy with the accomodation and the cleanliness of the house. The layout of the house was especially good as there was plenty of privacy. We especially liked that it had heat pumps in every bedroom although we had no need to use them as it was still quite warm. It was easy to access shops and very central for our needs. This was a beautiful home to stay in and I definitely would try and book it again if we came back to Masterton. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
It was affordable during Wings over Wairarapa - no huge price hikes like other places - we were so lucky to have been able to go to the show... the staff member also gave us a tip as to where we can get discounts - as we had a gaggle of children with us. I usually stay here when I go to Masterton - there is a playground for the kids and it's close to town and the pools.
There is the odd bunny around the place which works well when it's coming up to Easter for the littlies.
Grand, spacious rooms named after famous NZ racehorses. Very comfortable beds and modern, well-appointed bathrooms. Room was wonderfully quiet and felt very secure. Common areas are currently under renovation and look like they will have an amazing almost country lodge feel. We travel to Masterton regularly to visit family and Gateway probably has the best rooms available in town. Most of the owners(?)/managers/staff were amazingly friendly and helpful.
Stunning house in extensive grounds which we were free to wander accompanied by the wonderful house dog, Panda - she really is a great host! Fabulous accommodation over two floors with lovely furnishings, eclectic collections of books, art and games, and good breakfast provisions. We were left entirely to our own devices by Cathy and Ron (but happily not Panda) and had a relaxing afternoon by the pool followed by dinner in Masterton.
Quirky little ex woolshed (shearing shed) in a lovely peaceful farm location an easy drive from Masterton. Very friendly hosts, great communication. Very clean and beautifully done up with lots of interesting character. Even a fresh home made chocolate cake on arrival! Would recommend to anyone that wants to get away from busy cities and see a real New Zealand farm or just enjoy some peace and quiet.
We had a very comfortable stay and we had everything we needed. The house is lovely and modern and we easily could've stayed there for weeks! The bathroom was a highlight with the wonderful bathtub and we loved being able to relax in the lounge at night and watch the big tv. I would definitely recommend this stay to family and friends and would love to stay again next time we're in Masterton.
The room is absolutely gorgeous. So peaceful and quiet as it's back from the road with a very comfy bed.
Breakfast was amazing and would also recommend the foodie platter, there which was enough for my dinner and leftovers for lunch for my long trip home.
Loved all the little touches that make the room feel homely and less like a motel/hotel room.
When we arrived at the motel the owner was more than helpful and gave us some good advice on places to visit and train travel - treat for husband! The place was very clean and tidy and we were able to catch up on washing on site, a real bonus.
Masterton is a lovely town, shops, beautiful parks and plenty of places to eat.
Brian & Nicky were awesome lovely hosts. Very accommodating and hands-on. The place/room has a relaxed feel and is situated beside the vineyard, The kids had a great time. And just before we left, my wife said to me, "Next time we're back in Masterton, let's stay here again!"
Hosts were great and really interesting to talk to.
History of the house and the matching style of the furnishings made it very memorable.
Proximity to the Masterton stations and town, very convenient.
Impressed with the host who resolved the mix-up with the booking quickly with some creative thinking. This ensured that my group could enjoy our weekend stay in Masterton.
Convenient location in Masterton with an excellent swimming pool and spa. Almost a motel layout with car parking immediately outside the bedroom, and no passing traffic.
Great location in Masterton close to the Town, and backing on to a farm...would be a great place for families as it has a pool and a big grass play area
