For an adventure on dry land, Sunrise Getaway is close to the beautiful Redwoods where you can hike through dramatic forest scenery, or go mountain biking on one of the many tracks available. The local supermarket is a quick five-minute walk away so you can leave the car at home if you're just picking up some supplies. The cafes and restaurants of Rotorua central are all within a 15-minute drive. But if you're looking for something memorable to see when you get here, head out to the Blue Lake for the unforgettable blue colours, an abundance of swimming areas, along with plenty of BBQ sites to enjoy some lunch. For ease of getting around the area, the local public bus stop is across the road and there is also another bus route on Te Ngae Road that also goes out to the airport. Abel Tasman National Park is the smallest National Park in New Zealand, but it is one of the most scenic. Abel Tasman boasts pristine white sandy beaches, tranquil estuaries and wonderful forested headlands. The Coastal Track is world famous, and visitors can choose to explore it on their own, or with a guide. Other ways to explore the coastline include sea kayaking, yacht, or water taxis. At the southern entrance to Abel Tasman National Park there is fantastic opportunity for visitors to swim with seals.
