Unique eco-based stone and native timber cottage with outstanding views and scenic local landscape. Abundant birds, spring water, and a relaxing terrace to enjoy the views - what can be better? The power is off grid and is a solar/hydro self-contained generation system. Therefore, electric appliances such as hair driers can only be used when the generator is on. There is radio and music but no TV. Note: GPS is blocked by nearby mountains when on approach road to property - WiFi and mobile reception is intermittent.
Kieran & Susie are widely travelled and both have enjoyed long professional careers. Susie is qualified in Nutrition, Naturopathy and Community Health and is a Pilates Instructor providing regular classes in Greytown. After managing international projects around the world, Kieran has been CEO of NZ local authorities and of significant national organisations. He is also a noted musician and performer of his own compositions. Both K & S love cooking, good wine, enjoyable company and life in general. No end to the excitement!
Clear & clean Mangatarere River is outside the door - take a dip!. You are only about 200 metres from the Tararua National Forest Park with hundreds of kilometers of trails and many overnight huts - some of the best nature and native bush tramps in NZ. About 20 minutes or less to Restaurants and bars in Carterton and Greytown. Or go to Masterton with all the facilities of a small city. SH2, Carterton Golf Club, Railway Station, supermarket, plus High Street shops and market about 18 minutes drive from the door. It is the 'Good Life' here!
