Beaconstone is perfectly located the Abel Tasman and the Glaciers to access the many West Coast adventures between. A truly green holiday experience, completely off-the-grid but with modern comforts and no internet or TV to distract you from nature. Take in the beautiful views over the Totara Valley relaxing by the fire or a walk through 35 acres of the propertys' native bush to safe clean river swimming holes and the Paparoa National Park.... peace and tranquillity, just you and nature. Wi-fi available just 5 minutes south at Charleston Tavern or the Underworld Cafe, or 15 minutes north to Westport for many free 5G hotspots.
Your accommodation is a charming kiwi style Cottage - with uninterrupted vistas over the Totara Valley. 2 bedrooms with comfy californian kings or singles. Full modern kitchen facilities with log burner, oven and dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Sunny open plan living, cosy lounge with open fireplace, Separate sunroom for peace and more views. An extensive library with games and music to entertain. The quaint bathroom has a shower and bath with bush views. Outdoors is a BBQ with seating area or a sunny deck for your morning cuppa while listening to native bird song. A minutes’ walk to our glorious sunset viewing area or 10 minutes down Beaconstones private bush track to the Totara River for a swim. For larger groups we have a cosy Hut with queen bed available nearby for booking in combination with The Cottage. The off grid Mountain View Hutt, contact us to enquire availability.
All within 15 minutes of Beaconstone are bush walks, rain forest train ride tour to glow worms, beach or farm horse trekking tours, hiking, retired gold mine tour, long beach walks, tramping, kayaking, caving tours, rafting, beach and river swimming, surfing, hunting, fishing or white baiting, seal colony and lighthouse, nature watching, book a theraputic or relaxing massage. Walk, bike or run the new Kawatiri Coastal Trail. Westports shops, galleries, sports centre or Museum with local Pounamu trail and gold and coal mining history, .... Visit Charleston, Fox River and Carters Beach local artisan weekend markets Punakaiki Pancake rocks and blowholes (best seen on the high tide) are just 35 minutes south via the famous Scenic Coast Road.
