Kalendes Home A home-away from home, Kalendes Home is a city version of our beloved house and first listing on Booking “Kalendes” in Kalandra, Chalkidiki. Our Home is fully equipped with all the amenities for a comfortable and feel like home experience. Outdoor space: Front outdoor seating balcony Side outdoor balcony Back outdoor balcony Indoor space: Living room with fireplace Dining area Fully equipped kitchen 1 bedroom with Queen size bed (1.50x2.00) & top mattress 1 bedroom with two single twin beds 1 sharing bathroom with bathtub Kalendes home is located in Neous Epivates, Peraia. A stone’s throw from the scenic sea-line and not so far away from the vibrant city of Thessaloniki if you are by car. Next to our Home you can find a pharmacy, mini market, a butchers house and a hairdresser’s salon and within a few minutes on foot a market, restaurants and bars. If you want to relax and enjoy the beauties of nature but also to have the option of a cosmopolitan night in the city of Thessaloniki if you choose too then Kalendes Home is for you.
Καλένδες/ Kalendae “Kalendes” is an ambiguous word. Kalendes (Latin: kalendae) is the first day of every month in the Roman calendar. The English word "calendar" is derived from this word. However, Kalendes was a feature of the Roman calendar, but it was not included in the Greek calendar. Consequently, to postpone something ad Kalendas Graecas ("until the Greek calends") was a colloquial expression for postponing something forever. This phrase survived for many centuries in Greek (Greek: εἰς τὰς ἑλληνικάς καλένδας).
