The ESTIA stone house is a traditional house a few kilometers outside the city of Chania (15' by car) that offers the peace and quiet of the village that one wishes for on vacation. It is located in the village of Modi and can accommodate up to 4 people. By car it is only 5 minutes from Platanias, one of the most touristic beach areas of Crete. The surrounding area offers hiking trails. We are waiting for you for unforgettable experiences!
The name of the accommodation comes from the initials of the names of our family members. We have tried for many years to renovate a very old building that was used as an oil factory to make it functional with all the modern amenities. We welcome you and wish you wholeheartedly to spend beautiful, special and relaxing moments of vacation and stay.
The neighborhood of the village is called Pano Modi. The accommodation is very close (50 meters) to the central church of the village overlooking Platania beach and Ag. Marina. The village pitch with synthetic turf (100m distance) is suitable for sports, and there are also many hiking trails. At a distance of 1 to 2 kilometers south towards the mountain there is the route to the church of the prophet Elias with a wonderful view of the entire northern coastal front of Chania. Then and at a distance of about 1 kilometer more is the route to the church and the cave of Ag. Gerasimos. The village also has Babi's cafe with great food. A car is required to travel to the large beaches since there is no access by bus. The village took its name from the ancient settlement of Modaia. Move around the village to become one with the people who live in it and feel Crete for a while.
