Vryses of Platanias is a beautiful area that combines natural beauty with a traditional Greek atmosphere, offering an idyllic environment for relaxation and enjoyment of holidays. It is located just 5 km away from the charming town of Platanias in Crete and a mere 4 km from the beach. The village took its name from the many springs that used to exist there, of which 4 remain today. Visitors are impressed by the lush path, the central square with majestic plane trees, and the tranquility that pervades the landscape. It is an area rich in archaeological and geological findings and has a rich history. Just before the entrance of the village, there is a path called "Xenia Odos" or the "Katsouna Gorge," which leads to the heart of a breathtaking green landscape and, from a certain point onwards, to the ruins of ancient Pergamon that Agamemnon founded upon returning from Troy. The existence of the ancient city has been confirmed, unfortunately, the excavation works have not been carried out.
