Enjoy a countryside retreat on one of the most stunning islands in the UK - the Isle of Wight. Set within a AONB area (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) so surrounded by endless gorgeous scenery, The Wimberry is an old 1880 converted dairy building with an abundance of eclectic charm. Our barn is a Self catering cottage with two cosy bedrooms and pretty court yard garden. Set within the centre of the island and countryside you can enjoy walks, cycling, hikes and many outdoor pursuits from this wonderful location.
I'm Sarah and happy to help in any way to make your stay memorable. I have lived on the island on and off for the past 46 years. I also run a little design studio behind The Wimberry where I run my personalised gift company from.
Set within the countryside in a small area called Gatcombe. The Wimberry has easy access to some truly stunning island walks and paths. As The Wimberry is beautifully set in the middle of the island, car access is advisable. Getting around the island is easy by car, bike or bus, however our roads are very different than those on the mainland, a lot more narrow! With a car you are not far from wonderful country pubs, costal restaurants and our main town of Newport which is only 3-4 minutes away. The island is only 23 miles by 13 miles so everything is super close by! The Wimberry has off road parking for two cars. We also have a bus stop at the end of the road. The property is situated 23 minutes from the car ferry in Fishbourne. Within our barn complex is my personalise gift company, and we do like to leave our guests a little gift to take home with them as a Wimberry momento!
