Built in 1847, The Old School is a beautiful 4 bedroom Grade II listed country house in the village of Icklesham which was completely renovated to a high standard in 2011. In between the historic towns of Rye and Hastings, the property was originally the village school before being converted to a house in the 1970’s. The accommodation is arranged over 2 floors and consists of an open plan kitchen, dining & living room, laundry room, master bedroom with en-suite shower room, family bathroom and guest bedroom on the ground floor with 2 additional guest bedrooms and a WC on the first floor. Outside, it has a lovely fully enclosed lawned back garden with a summer house and a large patio area. We have 4 bedrooms so can sleep 8 people in beds. We advertise for more (up to 12) as we can accommodate young children and babies in 2 x travel cots and we have 4 x sleeping mats and bags which are suitable for sharing in the bedroom. The upstairs bedrooms have double beds with 2 x platforms which fit under the roof which small children up to around 6 years old can enjoy sleeping in. The master bedroom has a king size bed and is the largest of the bedrooms. The other bedroom downstairs has a single day bed which can be converted into a large double bed if required and there is room for a cot or sleeping bag in this room too.
