The hut was a lovely comfy place to have a romantic stay, the wood burner was lovely and made it super cosy Being so close to the animals, and hearing them in the morning. The raw and natural habitat was incredible Very private location,...

Looking to get away from it all? Seeking peace and tranquillity? This quirky shepherd's hut, situated beside a lake on our working farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Isle of Wight, may fit the bill. Being well insulated and also having a wood burning stove ensures the hut is warm and cosy. There is no electricity in the hut but the private shower room and kitchenette are only a 100m away. The kitchenette contains a microwave, small fridge. toaster, kettle and sink. The main farm business is sheep and you will see a variety grazing alongside our llamas, alpacas, Dexter cattle, horses and ponies. We also offer priavte angling (roach and tench), horse drawn carriage drives and llama treks. Additional charges apply. You can relax in the farmhouse whenever you wish and connect to our free wifi. We also offer self catering and bed and breakfast accommodation and host yoga retreats in the Autumn over New Year & Spring.
We have been welcoming guests to our farm for fifteen years. It is our pleasure to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Mark's passions are his motorbike and car. And he also cooks a delicious breakfast catering to dietary requirements as necessary (advance notice please!) We use the fleeces of our animals to produce knitting and weaving yarn. Our online shop WightGrownWool stocks a variety of items which can also be seen at the farm as can Kathy's floor loom in her studio. She also loves taking her llamas and alpacas for walks and driving her miniature Shetland ponies in their carriage.
A choice of restaurants, tearooms, the Model Village and a variety of small shops are just a 15 minute walk away. The Taverners is mentioned in the Michelin Good Pub Guide. Walking and cycling tracks traverse the farm. Horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and golf can be enjoyed in the vicinity. There is a riding stables the other side of the village. Ventnor is 4 miles as the crow flies and can be reached by walking largely across country commencing with the neighbouring Appuldurcombe Estate. Regular buses are available if you don't want to walk back. The beach, Ventnor Botanic Gardens and interesting shops can all be found in Ventnor. Alternatively Shanklin is about 5 miles away and can also be reached by off road paths, car or bus. The island hosts many festivals including Eclectica, the IW music festival, Rhythmntree, Steam Fairs, August Bank Holiday Scooter Weekend, the Garlic Festival, Jack up the 80s, Old Gaffers, Cowes Week, Walking Festival, County Show to name just some. Perhaps the best known place to visit on the island is Osborne House, the former home of Queen Victoria and her family. Being centrally located most places are within a 40 minute car
