A leisurely walk inland from the stunning coastline and beach at Praa Sands on Mount's Bay, along quiet country lanes banked with a profusion of wild flowers in spring/summer, sits Ramblers Retreat in Tresowes, nr Ashton.This peaceful hamlet nestles at the foot of Tregonning Hill, a dominant terrain and Cornish World Heritage Site surveying a 360 degree panorama over southwest Cornwall where it is possible to site both coastlines on clear days.A gentle uphill walk to its summit will reward you with spectacular views and reveal the remains of a Celtic settlement dating back to 250BC..Naturalists will discover a rich and varied wildlife, no more obvious than the glorious melodies of bird song that fill the air, and dog owners will find plenty of open countryside for their pets to run around.There is a coastal golf course and surf school within a 5 minute drive and Penzance, Marazion and St Ives are within a 9 mile radius. Practical for couples and families, Ramblers Retreat is an honest and comfortably appointed single storey holiday home. Whilst the owners live on site, it is not overlooked and enjoys a pleasant and private outlook over a pretty garden.
