The Queens Hotel, hotel in Penzance

Situated by Penzance beach, and 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre, The Queen's Hotel boasts a restaurant with views across Mount's Bay, St.

Reception and bar was very kind and helplful, not always so with the other staff. If you like a feeling of Old run down Britain with a sense of class, this is a fun place to stay, and to have as a base for Cornwall walks.

i like walking on the promenade, along to Newlyn, took the Mounts Bay coast path to Marazion, took the bus to Trengwainton gardens- lovely to see the magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias - interesting walks round the gardens and a lovely cafe with friendly staff and good food. Visited Trewidden gardens by bus and also took the train to St. Ives- a lovely scenic run along the coast. Penzance town has a nice selection of shops and it is worth exploring the back streets and the area round Chapel street. On previous visits have been to the Morrab gardens and other parks. Penzance is easy to walk round, has a good bus service and the tourist information staff are very knowledgable and helpful.

Went in the end of February, it was a quiet time with everything closing by 10pm, and last buses leaving early, but it's just as lovely if not more so as any other time of the year could be. Even for hiking, if you get ready for the wind, the rain, the fog, the mud and the cold.

Penzance is a small town which has many quirky shops, art galleries , restaurants and coffee shops. What does let it down is the amount of old falling apart buildings and many shop closures - not unlike most small towns in the UK at the moment and in need of council investment. A lot of people seemed to be on holiday although I would imagine it being much busier in summer, which is also a trend with the boom of holiday cottages in Cornwall. Hopefully Penzance does have enough locals living in it that it will still thrive and not just become a tourist town only like so many towns in Cornwall and around the UK as local communities are the heart and soul of what makes a town.

We went in winter, quite a few of the shops were closed. Quite a bit of road works on our journey down. Beautiful town, very hilly. Definitely worth a visit for the history. We had dinner at the Longboat In. Food was very good. Traffic was quite busy as only one road into town centre and out.

Very close to the excellent Praa sands beach. A modern and comfortable flat, fully equipped with everything needed for self-catering. Even some games in the living room cupboard. Very clean, and a very friendly and prompt service. Excellent location close to the beach, and in easy driving distance to supermarkets, to Penzance, the Penwith peninsula and to Porthleven. You can start walking the coast path straight from where you are towards Porthleven. To be warmly recommended. We had a great time!

The location is perfect! Close to the center, the beach and very close to places like st Ives and Lands End. Ally and Mike were very kind and friendly from our arrival, make you feel like home. Friendly proprietor and the more sociable atmosphere of breakfast in a guest house environment rather than a hotel - an excellent breakfast at that - freshly cooked to guests' 'specifications'. Convenient for buses and trains from Penzance to other Cornish destinations including outstanding views from the South West Coast Path tackled after a hearty breakfast and a packed lunch requested. Access to kitchen facilities are a bonus.

Had to wait outside for 1 hour to get the access code. Beds where two singles not a double. Wifi code did not work and did not receive reply about the new code. For 140£ it was a rip off but i had no where else to go. Stayed at the Queens hotel for 100£ the next night which was considerably better. This is the only bad review i have ever given. I tend to do more research y'know? Just being Honest.. Hope the owner sorts it out..

We had a wonderful stay at the Bay Lodge. It was the perfect location from which to explore Penzance, St Michael’s Mount, Newlyn, and Mousehole. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and Clare thought of everything that we might need. It was an easy walk from the train station and a great central location. Breakfast was yummy and made to order!

It is a cosy place to stay close to the Penzance Railway Station. Shopping is convenient because there are quite a lot of supermarkets, groceries, bars, and shops nearby. We were offered Cornwall brand biscuits and chocolates, which were tasty. The sofa bed was a bonus, in addition to the 2 beds upstairs.

Hosts are Sally & Alan—very nice and helpful with daily journeys. Breakfast served individually in A pleasant dining room, for all guests. Room was well appointed, bright, with a small bathroom. Everything very clean and well planned. The best choice of B & B’s in the Promenade area of Penzance.

The staff all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The full English breakfast is excellent. The pub is busy and welcoming. The value for your money is the best in Penzance, and the bus service is literally right outside the door. What more is there to say?

The hotel was in a great location in Penzance. Our room was on the top floor and had a good view across Mounts Bay. The beds were spotlessly clean and very comfy. Shower was good and toilet clean. We had a good breakfast and the staff were friendly, polite and helpful.
