Sam & Andy would like to welcome you to Lower Whitsleigh Farm. The self catering barn plan came around five years ago. Having realised that their increasing obsession for River Cottage & Escape to the Country, was perhaps indicating a lifestyle change was necessary, we began to plot a move to the countryside. But how to do it? It was a weekend countryside stay that gave us the lightbulb moment. After a hugely enjoyable couple of holidays in North Devon and drinking one bottle too many of the local ciders and indulging in several cream teas for market research experience of course! We worked out a business plan for the holiday business plan on a scrap of paper and the touch paper was lit! We also hope to offer a wonderful safari tent glamping experience on a lake in the not so distant future! One week later the Essex property was on the market. 3 months after that (almost to the day), we picked up the keys to Lower Whitsleigh Farm. And now, one year later, Sam & Andy and their twins live full time at Lower Whitsleigh Farm with their two rescue donkeys, Daphne & Delilah, 3 pigs, several chickens and their withdrawn guide dog Rufus!

We are situated between the Moors, making it easy to explore the depths of Dartmoor or Exmoor & the pretty villages that are scattered around the area.
