Neighbourhood information

Newchurch lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with an abundance of walks and cycle rides along nature trails, where you might be lucky enough to spot a shy red squirrel, famous on the island. Nearby are the Amazon World Zoo and the Garlic Farm, both popular attractions, whilst further afield Robin Hill adventure park, Arreton Barns and picturesque Godshill with its model village, gift shops and tea rooms, all make for a good day out. Or why not dust off your bucket and spade and jump in the car for a 5 minute drive to the golden beaches of Sandown, where you can try a variety of water sports. Carry on driving and Sandown merges into neighbouring Shanklin, with the magical Chine and quaint thatched roofed tearooms, houses and shops in the Old Village. Alternatively step into the world of Queen Victoria by visiting her Italian inspired holiday home Osborne House, designed by her beloved husband Prince Albert or enjoy the individual charms offered at Carisbrooke Mill, the Lavender Farm, Donkey Sanctuary and various English Heritage sites.
