Breakfast was excellent. Variety of quality ingredients, very well cooked and presented. Hosts were very helpful with local information and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely location and garden.

A cosy room in a beautiful garden with a view over Shapwick Church, in an ideal location to explore the local nature reserves. The owners were very welcoming and provided an exceptional breakfast with homemade bread and organic veg from the garden.

Matthew Souter
“Surely the best turned out Potting Shed in England”.... from Alastair Sawday’s book “Go Slow England”. The ‘Potting Shed’ is completely separate to our own 400-year-old family home. As guests you have your own entrance door and key to enable you to come and go as you please. It is a charming, safe and secure, quietly situated double room with modern en-suite. Lovely views over the walled gardens and adjacent 15th century Church. Ideal both for single guests or couples. Facilities in the room include a double bed with white cotton bed linen, towels, free wi-fi, hairdryer and kettle together with a well stocked tea & a coffee tray and organic chilled West Country milk.
Karin and l enjoy striving to give our guests the sort of experience we ourselves would desire. Here are some examples from over 140 5 star reviews we have received in the last two years on another platform. "We had a wonderful 5* stay with Matthew and family. Firstly they're easily the most genuine, warm and welcoming B&B hosts we've ever encountered. The homemade, homegrown, breakfasts were divine - such a treat!" “If a warm welcome, fluffy pillows, and attention to your comfort is what you are looking for, then The Patting Shed is 5* perfect for your getaway. “Oh my goodness, this is an absolute gem." "This place needs to be experienced to be believed- Everything about it was fabulous! Comfy bed, good shower, extra touches, an amazing breakfast, lots of it homemade, the lovely garden Fleur the dog and gorgeous chickens. Karin and Matthew are the perfect hosts, helpful and friendly but allowed me privacy - I cannot praise this place enough - if you are looking at it - Go!." "Absolute bliss. The garden truly is a work of art - it's such a relaxing place to spend time, we felt as if we'd been transported to a mythical paradise!..." "A little slice of paradise..."
