Property was ideal to accommodate us 4 middle aged chaps and our motorcycles. We all had our own rooms and there are plenty of bathrooms in the property. Lovely little village ideally situated to explore Wales countryside.

Neighbourhood information

It is no exaggeration to say that – even by North Wales standards – this is an especially stunning part of the world. Renowned for its big landscapes and diverse and abundant wildlife, it is brimming with opportunities to explore. The cottage sits in the beautiful Dysynni Valley, from which rises the spectacular peak of Cadair Idris. This mystical mountain is named after the legendary giant warrior poet who is said to sit on its summit - take a hike to the top to be rewarded with the most amazing panoramic views. At just a couple of miles away, Tywyn is the closest seaside town to this this quirky chapel conversion in the beautiful Dysynni Valley. The Wales Coastal Path runs right through the centre of the town and onto the Blue Flag Award beach. On a clear day you’ll get great views north towards Bardsey Island and Pwllheli on the Pen Llŷn (Llŷn Peninsula), and south as far as Fishguard and Aberystwyth. Aberdyfi (also known as Aberdovey), is one of Eryri's (Snowdonia’s)prettiest coastal villages and just ten minutes’ away by car. A creative hub for artists and writers, it is also a big draw for anyone who enjoys watersports like sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. It’s the perfect spot for coastal walks and cosy pubs, and there is a decent number of good places to eat out. If you like exploring the Welsh coast, it is well worth including a trip to Barmouth (40 minutes drive) on your holiday. If you like cycling, pack your bikes to explore the Mawddach trail, which follows the course of the old railway line from Barmouth to Ruabon. It will take you through stunning scenery and over beautiful old wooden bridges. A magical – and relatively easy – day out on two wheels with a superb mountains-and-coast backdrop. Machynlleth is around 15 miles away. This historic town offers some great independent shops, places to eat and drink, and a couple of good art galleries. It’s well worth an explore: the town has a quirky, eco-friendly vibe, with the...
