There's also bus stop nearby if you don't drive and walkable to city centre. Highly recommended!

Taupo is 40 km from the hostel. I had the whole room to myself. It was very clean, tidy and comfy. Kitchen and living areas were well organised and clean. Separate cutlery/plates etc for each room. Spacious outdoor. Clean bathrooms and linen. Excellent location. The hosts were lovely. You can tell how much they love running this place by looking at how well maintained it is.

Guests can relax by the fireplace in the guest lounge, or unwind in the hammock on the terrace. After a day of activities, you can share a meal in the barbecue area. The hostel offers a sun terrace. You can play table tennis at United Auckland. Had a beautiful stay. It did exceed my expectation as I had access to games,movie rooms and the common area with the kitchen is great. In addition my room and bed was clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Helped with easy check in and check out. The building is so clean :) Also i was able to keep my luggage In the reception area even after my checkout for almost 6 hrs. Overall I really enjoyed my stay.

Taupo is an absolute mecca for all things outdoors – including hiking the famous Tongariro crossing, trout fishing, skydiving, jet boating, white water rafting, mountain biking and sailing on the Great Lake with the hostel's yacht 'Fearless'. The pods where you sleep are really spacious for all your luggage and comfortable too. The shared area was a beautiful garden with lots of different sittings. The staff was wonderful
