Rjukan Gjestegård

Rjukan

This guest house is in Telemark County, in the town of Rjukan. It offers a TV room and fireplace lounge. Rjukan Station is 500 metres away.

Almost all of Rjukan Gjestegaard’s guest rooms feature a seating area. Toilets and showers are either private or shared. Rooms with bathrooms feature a flat-screen TV. Everything. My stay was great and I was surprised with how clean the place was. It exceeded my expectations and as for this price in Norway, a much higher standard was provided. I have received less in hotels, here it was a gjestegård / guesthouse and I was treated like a guest who was welcome and all facilities made my stay comfortable. It’s not only clean, it’s also fresh (I see it was recently renovated), there were multiple cosy rooms, like a stua (day room) with comfy chairs, a fireplace, a place to drink coffee/tea etc. The toilets were meticulously clean and the same with bathrooms. Noises were isolated (though it’s a silent area in general). Once I opened the window, I got much fresh air and the sound of the stream. Views are picturesque from each window. I came to Rjukan just to visit the UNESCO-site, but thanks to this service level I will come back with pleasure, just to relax. One more thing: I liked the system with the breakfast that was offered. It functioned really well. In the area there are at least three large supermarkets open even during holidays.
