Polfareren is a great location within easy walk of the shops and adventure activity pickups. The room was a lovely size and the heated bathroom floor was divine. The breakfast was delicious with a big range of food. The cleaning staff were friendly and welcoming.
Room was bare bones basic. Single bed, desk and a shelf. It's such a quirky hotel though. It's more like a hostel than a hotel I would say but full of character and history (think it was previously used by the miners as lodging).the lunch menu here was excellent and really we'll priced. They also packed me a breakfast bag to take on the early morning flight.
Highly advised! Great location, large rooms and fantastic living area with everything you might need. The host was also very kind and available!
If coming to Svalbard this is by far the only budget accomodation available. Bearing in mind that it has no real competition, it is still nevertheless a very good hostel. Breakfast pancakes are great, staff are friendly, it is fairly sociable. The rooms are somewhat small, but the kitchen/social area is spacious enough, and in any case if you come to Svalbard for the bedroom then there's really little point.
Great location in the middle of Longyearbyen with many eating and drinking options with a couple of minutes walk. The room was perfect for our group of six and was bigger that we'd expected. Very comfortable and convenient. We'd feared there might be night-time noise from the pub below - none whatsoever. If we ever return to Svalbard, we'd be happy to stay here again.
The place has a lot of atmosphere. The bed narrow but perfectly comfortable. Very good breakfast. Never needed to wait for using the shared bathroom. The hotel reminded me a lot of an Australian backpacker hostel.
very quirky historical and interesting place. homely feel in a hostel type environment with shared but clean bathrooms. bedroom was surprisingly hot for the arctic region. Loved the comfortable lounge, fully fitted kitchen and free tea and coffee to save you money. Great restaurant...a bit pricey and games room at weekends was a bonus for free Pool. central location where all tour operators pick up

Everything! One of the best hostels I've ever stayed. The toilets were always incredible clean and free. The rooms were bit small, but enough. The breakfast was amazing!! The view for the city was also amazing! 10 stars all around
