It’s clean, well maintained and looked after. We loved our stay and the nature surrounding us. Beautiful sunsets and very good facilities. Daniela cooks wonderful and healthy meals taking your dietary needs into consideration. Both owners are helpful and look after you so well. Toni is really good with sorting scooter out and making sure that you get your deposit back. Boasting a garden, shared lounge, terrace and free WiFi, Hostel Clandestino Maderas is set in Playa Maderas, 600 metres from Maderas Beach and 1.3 km from Marsella Beach. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and luggage storage space for guests. My partner and I stayed in the Duplex studio while staying at Hostel Clandestino and let me tell you, it was freaking fantastic! We had two nights booked and push back our plans back by one day so we could stay a third, we’d stay longer if we could, we are in love. We did keep to ourselves a bit as it was our surfing and decompression time from our past weeks but it seems that that hostel is not only great for relaxing but for social life too. Nice common area people seem to mingle, and a cool outdoor kitchen by a skate bowl where they had a BBQ and some music and hangs around yesterday, and it wasn’t too noisy or anything, sounded like a good time! The shared kitchen and washrooms seems clean and beautiful…. Though we didn’t use those cause we had our own!! It was sooo nice to have our own kitchen, fridge, and washrooms what a treat! The studio is the best experience we’ve have had yet on my stay in Nicaragua, so beautiful, peaceful and everything you need, including the cutest little black kitty cat that you can’t get enough of! Highly recommended spoiling yourselves for a few days, and for having pretty much your own tiny home (that is adorable) surrounded by nature, it is very fairly priced! Maderas beach is like a 5 minute walk for your beach chills and surfing needs…also no more then 10 minute walk to some hostel restaurant’s or beach food if you don’t have food to cook as Clandestino doesn’t have a restaurant or bar. We will defiantly return to this little slice of paradise if we get the chance to in the future. Thank you! Xx

La Urraca Loca Hostel has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Balgue. Featuring barbecue facilities, the property is located within 12 km of Maderas Volcano. Maderas Beach is 300 metres from the hostel, while Christ of the Mercy Nicaragua is 8 km away. Hush Maderas is seductive; when you are there it is hard to leave. The view from the common area is gorgeous, especially at sunset. A lot of care and energy goes into the great quality food there. We took advantage of the massage, yoga and surfing lessons on offer; all their contacts provide excellent services. We had booked the accommodation last minute, not knowing what we had signed up for, and we were so impressed.

Every room includes a private bathroom and a shower, and certain units at the hostel have a terrace. Out of all my years travelling, I’ve never found somewhere that has ticked literally every box. It’s so clear that the owners have spent many years backpacking as everything has been thought of from a back packers perspective. As well as amenities, the vibe is so goooood. The chilled nights are chilled and the party nights are banging. The music and food, the staff, the location, everything! Thank you soooo much to Charlie, Styx and the gang for looking after me and attending to my every need. I’m so gutted I had to eventually leave. Love and appreciate you guys! May we meet again! I reccomend rain dance to everyone.
