Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

The place is right at the beach so it makes it super easy to go in and out of the sea with showers close by and your belongings safe. Staff was nice although I had the feeling they were a bit overworked. Pool area and bar overlooking the sea are really nice. Rooms have AC which is relatively rare in a hostel in CR.

Everyone at the hostel was incredible - the owner, Brian, as well as the friendly volunteers and staff. There were great food promos each day, generous happy hour times and prices, and the AC at night was an absolute lifesaver. I felt extremely safe at this hostel as both a young woman and a foreigner, and my friends and I were very sad to leave. A couple of us are even considering going back to work there!!

Buena Nota was the first hostel I've ever stayed in and it was incredible! Felt like I was living in the Florida Project. The value for money is amazing and the staff were so lovely. The room was clean and felt safe. It's such a welcoming and homely place to stay. The location is fantastic with plenty of places to eat nearby and right on the beach. The pool is clean and refreshing in the heat.

Apparently we got an upgrade on the room so I'd be worried about what the others looked like. The room was clean but very basic. The furniture was cheap, wardrobe were plastic etc and we had to change room as the bed was broken. If you are traveling on a budget I'd imagine this place is better than a hostel but I wish we had paid more and stayed else where as I was expecting better from what the other reviews had said.

Great location, quiet surroundings, felt safe (it’s a gated property). Within walking distance of the beach but away from the hustle and bustle

The hostel is on the quiet place, there is air conditioner in the rooms and it was cheap. Sitting and laying around pool in the evening was really nice, surronded by lights and nature. Volontiers were nice.
