Alan contacted us by text day of arrival to confirm time and was the perfect host when we got there. The room was lovely, wonderfully clean and spacious and a view of Peveril Castle! We were given privacy whilst it was made clear we could approach any time for any need. Perfect.

Adorable property which was very clean and cosy; lovely host who made us feel very welcome
Location was idyllic and extremely convenient for both Byxton( opera house/ gardens/ shops) and wide variety of activities. We were linking Gilbert and Sullivan festival with 2 days ‘ trail’ cycling. Easy access to a number of old railway track off road routes made for a pleasant couple of days. Lynne and Pete were both fantastic. Great hosts -warm, welcoming ,helpful, friendly and just “ our kinda folk…” Thanks - we’ll be back!
We loved the manor and the lovely decor, attention to detail from our lovely host Alison in everything from the breakfast finishing touches to her tales of the history of the manor. We felt so welcome and comfortable in the manor and in our room. Everything was super clean and great. Would definitely love to stay here again in the future when exploring the area.
A very friendly pub, full of locals which is a good indicator. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, which is a big bonus when travelling alone. And, for a car driver, a good selection of non alcoholic drinks !!
Jenny was a great host, lots of communication, very helpful. The apartments was brilliant, very quirky with lots of different features. Kids loved staying here.
Mark is a great host, he cooked a lovely breakfast and other meals. He works so hard to make The Lantern Pike an attractive pub for locals a visitors and is so friendly.
Yvonne is such a lovely host! She made us feel right at home with her love and warmth. She made delicious breakfasts for us including pancakes and fruit, salmon and poached eggs and full veggie English. She even got me mushroom sausages as I don’t like corn ones! She made the room beautifully clean and dressed up! A home from home stay!
Everything was explained in a welcome email Lovely cottage, great hosts, facilities were exceptional, cottage clean and cozy. Go for a drink at the bowling green pub, staff and locals very friendly. Great place for walkers, although matlock and bakewell a short drive
