Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

The glamping tent was awesome. Secluded spot, away from the rest of the accomodation. The view was amazing! We would definitely stay here again!

The nearest airport is Nelson Airport, 43 km from the guest house. Really cosy room and comfy bed. As the name describes it (glamping), the room is very small but the bed is comfy and the linen was really nice. The description lists the accommodation as a shared bathroom but I had it all to myself (along with kitchenette and laundry) which was certainly nice for this solo traveller! I later learnt that for the moment, the individuals or group who have booked have exclusive use of the bathroom which you’re not sharing it with strangers (there are two other glamping cabins). Everything was immaculately clean. The accommodation is on the edge of town but I liked the location as it’s closer to the coast and a swimming spot. Communication with the owner was fab, she even suggested a few dinner spots which was thoughtful.
