Offering free WiFi and set on the bank of a stream, Chalet Karaka offers accommodation 3 minutes' drive from Takaka village in Golden Bay. The 5-star guest house has river views, and guests can enjoy access to BBQ facilities . Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Hugh living area and a very comfortable bedroom with modern ensure facility. In a lovely, quiet farm environment within an easy drive to Takaka for meals etc. Great for exploring the Golden Bay area. Debbie & Mike are great hosts and provide a generous continental breakfast each morning. We would definitely go back again.
Great location, beautiful surroundings. Kitchen well equipped. Bathroom very spacious, nice to have separate toilet. Easy to use Washer and Drier facilities, massive able to do our washing before moving on. Great hostess, very easy check-in.
We loved our stay. It's a very quiet setting not far from the beach. The cabins were basic but comfortable I had the best sleep ever. Steve was a great host he was always helpful & makes a great Pizza.
Lovely beachfront unit with views out to sea, an almost private beach, very quiet and peaceful. The bed was super comfortable, the shower powerful and hot, charming hosts and everything very clean and spacious. Strongly recommend for a tranquil getaway.
