Mayuko and her family are warm, open and friendly hosts. We really appreciated the opportunity to converse with them (with some help from google translate!) and it made the stay special. The music and dance demonstration was wonderful. I can't think of a better local base.

Hotel nearby JR station. Ample parking lots and nearby supermarket too. Breakfast was simple but nice to eat. Staff were polite and helpful. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Check-in/out was fast.

Mayuko-san was an extremely welcoming host, and I received high praise for being the first Finnish person to stay at her guesthouse. I didn't try any traditional Japanese arts that she teaches, but on the last morning she kindly took me to see a shamisen performance. Highly recommend this place!

Lovely host with some English communication skills - expect a Japanese-English mix, though this ought not dissuade. Smooth check-in with a tour of the facilities. Most essential amenities provided. Facilities were clean. Local products can be bought at the Guesthouse including apple juice, original Japanese honey (made by the next-door family), and miniature instruments. One of us tried a shamisen lesson with the host for ¥3000, which was fun and interesting.

Excellent central, quiet location close to downtown shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Cheap parking in front of hotel. Polite, elegant front desk staff. We were pleasantly surprised by the little perks offered at check-in, such as the free bath salts bar, alternative choice of shampoo, and welcoming sample of local sweets. Clean, very spacious room.
