They do not speak much English but Google translate does the job. They even took me to an amazing local BBQ restaurant(燒鳥) which was beyond my expectation. Btw they have two cute and energized corgis you might come cross.

The accommodation (we chose the amazing family room) has been beautifully restored, the private onsen with incredible alkaline waters was fantastic after a long day of walking and driving. The area is indescribably peaceful, a beautiful rural hideaway to be at peace with the world. The river and shrine nearby were spectacular. We would strongly recommend both dinner and breakfast - Maki is an amazing chef using fresh local ingredients and tailoring the menu to our needs. Perhaps the best aspect was our hosts, who made us feel completely at home. Our only regret was not staying longer - we’ll be returning!

We are so glad we stayed there instead of hotel for the last night of our trip. Such a lovely and enjoyable experience!
